Hello folks! So, Summer has finally given way to the first nibbles of Autumn air. But what a summer it’s been!
As a lot of you may know, in addition to my work as a TV presenter and entertainment journalist, I’m a trained Childline counsellor, and I was beyond thrilled to be asked by the This Morning team to join the ITV flagship show over the Summer holidays.
Over the course of 6 weeks the team and I worked to develop my own ‘Ask Anna’ item which did exactly what it suggests.
We had the most incredible response from young people, teenagers and adults all who emailed in with their concerns and worries. Thankyou to everyone who got in touch, I’m so glad you liked the item and found it helpful. Hopefully there’ll be more to come in the future too. Keep watching and I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
Summer isn’t Summer without the multitude of festivals is it? I annoyingly missed Glastonbury although I got some incredible showbiz goss from it via those that managed the full shebang! I did however join in the fun, and in fact host, brand new Bounce Festival in London’s Richmond Park.
The festival was a triumph from start to finish with a plethora of celebrity families rocking up for the music entertainment, organic food, and activities, and unique ‘shows’ like ‘how to shear a sheep’ (yup..really!) and my pal CBBC”s Greg Foot’s ‘Kaboom’ show which was so dangerously entertaining it actually left my gorgeous Godson wide eyed and speechless for all of 20 minutes – which is no mean feat! I’m thrilled to announce the festival, and me as host, will be back next year so get your tickets now before they go… www.bouncefestival.co.uk
The 2nd Nickelodeon Skills Awards took place at the end of the holidays with a brand spanking new host in the shape of my l’il pal Olympian Tom Daley. Taking on what was his first ever presenting role was a slightly nerve wracking task, but I’m proud to say he sailed through his hosting duties like a total pro – I like to think my pep talks and nagging went some way….
I also took to the stage to present a section of the show, and it was thanks to the wonderful peeps at Jones and Jones who supplied me with my fab yellow dress for the occasion. A proper girly coo and mutual appreciation ensued when it transpired Steph from The Luminites was also a fan of the label and wearing a J & J creation for the show too – I knew I liked that girl.
It was a fantastic show, celebrating young talent from the UK and the show rated No 1 for it slot too so a very happy camp indeed. Bring on The Skills Awards 2014!
It’s been a busy few months in the world of entertainment. I’ve been lucky to stalk a number of red carpets all in the name of work and my personal favourite had to be the We’re The Millers premiere in London’s Leicester Square.
Choosing the right time to rock up to a premiere is always crucial and the main rule…never arrive at the same time as the star. So, tottering in my heels, trying to find the entrance, what do I do? Yup, step foot on the carpet at exactly the same time as the main lady herself, Jennifer Aniston. Oops. As I shuffled my way along the pap gauntlet, I did at least get to have a good gawp at my Friend’s icon….verdict – teeny, pretty, but with way too much blusher.
And just as a little hint for you all, I’ve a few exciting announcements to come over the next few months, including my hook up with health and fitness company,
www.lifestylefitness.co.uk
and in particular its Personal Training arm;
www.lsfpt.co.uk
I’m incredibly excited about my new relationship with Andy and the team and between us we’re bringing mind and body together with some really unique ideas and initiatives planned for their teams of personal trainers, and which in turn will be passed on to their clients. It’s an opportunity and concept that I felt was a perfect marriage with my mental health and counselling credentials. I know from personal experience that a healthy and supported mind is equally as important as a healthy body. I’m looking forward to helping bringing it all together to create something special to help achieve the LSF-PT’s full potential. Watch this space.
And finally, for now, in a mere 8 weeks time I’ll be treading the boards once again for the annual panto prancing. This year I’m taking on the title role of Cinderella at The Churchill, Bromley, Kent.
With the press launch done and dusted, the cast are all ready to go. Hope to see you there over the festive season. You can get your tickets now via:
