Spring is in the air, finally my friends the dreary cold dank months are being weeded out, to be replaced (we hope) with long hot summer days. Ha, we can dream! It’s been a busy few months in my weird and wonderful world, a corking panto run in Cinderella, Milton Keynes (thankyou to everyone that came) and a few busy shoots for ITV meant that I was well over due some major chill out time.
And thank goodness for Emma at Thomson Holidays. Having filmed a few years ago at the Sensatori resort in Tenerife for GMTV, the unconditional sunshine, good food and five star service was just what the doctor ordered, and I could not have chosen a better destination for some much sought after R&R with Mama Williamson.
This hotel is enormous but somehow gets away with it as you never really notice other people and hustle and bustle. We were staying in the Red Level which really is worth every penny, the pool alone is worth the upgrade, and the service throughout the hotel flawless. Mama W didn’t lift a finger once and I fear the kind staff have now created a monster as she now expects this treatment everywhere she goes!
If you’re after a really good dose of winter sun, and even though the evenings require a cardi, the days are glorious hot sunshine, I’d really recommend Tenerife, and the Sensatori Thomson hotel. There really is everything you could want from a 5* holiday the restaurants are varied and good quality, the rooms better furnished than my own house, and an award winning spa on site which ‘Ma W’ and I spent a lovely evening exploring.
I will most certainly be booking again for next Jan/Feb – there’s a ‘cocktail of the day’ with my name on it!
So, sticking with the R&R theme, it’s come to my attention recently that most people really struggle with the winter blues – help is at hand my loves.

I’ve a busy few months coming up and I can’t wait to get stuck in! The life of a showbiz reporter and presenter can be a rather nocturnal one, and I’ve been blessed to have attended some fab events over recent week, The Brits and NTA’s up there as the most fun….and fizz fuelled *hic*!
ITV’s Daybreak has kept me busy, which I love, and you’ll be seeing me pop up over the next few months doing what I do…talking and prancing.
Still keeping my toe in my beloved Kids TV, my series of Skillicious is airing every weekday tea time on CiTV and Camp Orange is enjoying another outing on Nickelodeon in the mornings. And of course speaking of kids, my work at Childline is going from strength to strength with our Childline Schools Service having a MAJOR recruitment drive as we speak.
We desperately need volunteers to help go into schools to help teach our 7-11 years old how to be safe, how and who to talk to if they need to, and how to identify what’s right, wrong, acceptable or unacceptable emotionally and physically in their lives as young people.
If you think you can help, we offer full training and it will only take up 10 days a year of your time, please have a look at www.childline.org.uk – I promise you, if I can do it, you can and we’d love to welcome you into our Childline family.
I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be resuming my red carpet reporter role alongside Ant and Dec at this years Princes Trust Celebrate Success Awards on March 26th and I’m also about to join MIND and launch it’s Elefriends campaign where those suffering from mental illness can seek immediate support and understanding through it’s online peer network. A truly brilliant and needed campaign.
Much love to you all, do continue to keep abreast of all my showbiz antics on Digital Spy (www.digitalspy.co.uk) and don’t forget my column is up every Friday.
